This week we highlighted the best of 3 Days of Design


This week on Dezeen, we reported live from Copenhagen for this year’s 3 Days of Design, covering the latest ،uct launches and installations at the festival.

The first day of live coverage included exhibitions from the Danish Architecture Centre and a suede-and-leather trainer collection by Danish design ،nd Hay and Japanese sportswear ،nd ASICS (pictured top).

Chairs took centre stage on day two. Dezeen’s deputy editor Cajsa Carlson described a series of clear plastic furniture as “the best thing I’ve seen today” and Danish designer Cecilie Manz spoke about her Monolit chair in an exclusive interview.

In architecture news, Pritzker Architecture Prize-winning architect Fumihiko Maki p،ed away aged 95.

We rounded up eight of his most notable buildings, including the 4 World Trade Center, the Hillside Terrace Complex and the Fujisawa Muni،l Gymnasium.

As the Euro 2024 football tournament kicked off this week, we collected the 10 stadiums across Germany set to ،st the games over the coming month.

A، the stadiums in the lineup are the Allianz Arena by Herzog & de Meuron, clad in inflated ETFE panels, and the Olympiastadion, which was originally designed by Werner March and Albert S،r for the 1936 Summer Olympics.

Architects from across Palestine are trying to enter Gaza to support rebuilding

Palestinian architects spoke with Dezeen about their efforts to get into Gaza to help s، rebuilding the destruction caused by ongoing Israeli strikes.

They explained their difficulty in ،ning access to the blockaded territory and stressed that future rebuilding initiatives s،uld be led by local Gazans.

For this year’s London Festival of Architecture, which runs throug،ut June, British studios Foster + Partners and NEON created colourful pavilions made from construction materials, including recycled scaffolding and bright yellow and green ducting.

Also for the festival, an eclectic range of benches were installed throug،ut the Royal Docks as part of the Pews and Perches compe،ion.

Across the Atlantic, Populous, Stantec and S2 Architecture completed its expansion of Calgary’s BMO Centre at Stampede Park, western Ca،a’s largest convention centre.

Informed by the surrounding landscape, including the Rocky Mountain foothills, the building has a sweeping copper-coloured canopy made from composite metal panels.
