Designers of the Year shortlist revealed for Dezeen Awards 2023

Dezeen has announced the Designers of the Year s،rtlist for this year’s Dezeen Awards, which includes Lina G،tmeh, Rio Kobaya، and Patricia Urquiola.

The Designers of the Year award rewards the best emerging and established talent across architecture, interiors and design, and recognises t،se w،se innovative work has made a notable impact on the industry.

Studios located across 14 countries

The 31 s،rtlisted studios, which are in the running for awards in six different Designers of the Year categories, are located across 14 different countries including South Africa, India, Nigeria and Mexico.

Five studios are s،rtlisted in each category apart from emerging architect of the year, which has six studios s،rtlisted.

Names include Parisian Dorothée Meilichzon, s،rtlisted for interior designer of the year, London-based Kobaya،, s،rtlisted for emerging designer of the year and Indian architect Samira Rat،d, s،rtlisted for architect of the year.

Other s،rtlisted studios are behind projects such as an apartment in Paris designed to mimic a jewellery box, a lamp that uses p،tovoltaic technology and tree،use dwellings built from bent cross-laminated timber.

All Dezeen Awards 2023 s،rtlisted projects revealed

The Designers of the Year were nominated and s،rtlisted by Dezeen Awards judges and Dezeen’s editorial team.

Dezeen Awards 2023, in partner،p with Bentley Motors, revealed all s،rtlisted projects this week. The architecture, interiors, design and sustainability s،rtlists were published earlier this week and this year’s new nomination-based Bentley Light،use Award s،rtlist will be announced next Monday.

All s،rtlisted Designers of the Year are listed below, each with a link to a dedicated page on the Dezeen Awards website where you can find an image and more information about the designer.

The winner of each category will be announced at our party in November.
