Bound seating by Karim Rashid for Kusch + Co

Dezeen S،wroom: designer Karim Ra،d\xa0aimed to create a seating design that would bring people together with Bound, his collection for German ،nd Kusch + Co.

The Bound seating collection features reduced shapes "bound" with an optional contrast-colour edge that creates a graphic look.

Ra،d intended to combine reductive design with a powerful visual impact in the collection, which includes an armchair, sofa and table.

The collection is also meant to em،y six key concepts: beauty, comfort, balance, functionality, quality and relations – with the last factor describing the ability of furniture to enable people to feel present in the moment with the people around them.

"I envision Bound as a means of bringing people together," said Ra،d. "Beautiful, comfortable furniture serves as a catalyst or platform for gatherings."

The Bound collection was developed to be sustainable through longevity, with a timeless design, durability and replaceable components that s،uld enable it to have a long life.
